N.Y. Best Museums

Ellis Island Immigration Museum

It is the site where 12,000,000 immigrants first entered America chasing a dream. Many visit the museum for a chance to stand in the same location that their ancestors once stood as they entered a new country crammed with dreams. Others visit Ellis Island to observe the nations’s history.

While on a trip to the museum, you can examine artifacts and photos of the history of the site. Videos and interactive displays are also found across the museum. Ellis Island Immigration Museum is open each day except Christmas day. Entry to the museum is free but there is a ferry charge.
